The Count of May Festival is not just a celebration of history and fantasy – it is a non-commercial social project, bringing people together for over 14 years. It is a place where solidarity, kindness, and creativity come alive, allowing everyone to be part of a magical experience.
💛 Support for children from orphanages and crisis centers
Every year, we invite children from Riga and Latvia’s orphanages, giving them a chance to participate in tournaments, workshops, and attractions – completely free of charge.
✔ We provide hot meals, souvenirs, and gifts, ensuring that these children feel included and celebrated.
✔ We believe that small joys create big changes, and we want to give these children hope, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.

The festival is a place where everyone can express themselves. We welcome national cultural organizations, artisans, independent artists, and creative minds.

The festival receives no commercial funding and is entirely organized by enthusiastic locals – students, teachers, entrepreneurs, artists, and anyone who values culture and community.
Everyone you see at the festival is a volunteer:

These people start their work at 6 AM and continue until late at night, all because they believe in the festival and its mission.
